Congratulations to local resident, Mr Lloyd, who celebrated a £2,000 win on the Bracknell Forest Lottery last weekend.
The lucky winner, Mr Lloyd, is a regular player and sees the Bracknell Forest Lottery as an ideal way to help support his chosen charity, Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC).
Mr Lloyd said:
"Bracknell Forest Council provides excellent support for the library chess clubs and the chess courses. Through this, they told me about the Bracknell Forest Lottery about 4 years ago and I have participated ever since.
"I am the regional representative for the CSC charity. I buy lottery tickets to help support chess for older people in the Bracknell Forest and Crowthorne communities. I run 2 library chess clubs at Bracknell library (10am to midday every Friday) and at Crowthorne library (4pm to 5pm every Thursday).
"Thanks to my winning ticket, I will be able to run further chess courses for the Bracknell Forest community later in the year."
Bracknell Forest Lottery is designed to help local not-for-profit charities and organisations fundraise for their good cause all year round, in a safe, fun and effective way.
Since launching, Bracknell Forest lottery participants have won almost £26,000 in prizes. On top of that, a further £96,000 has been raised for the local community. There are weekly cash prizes to be won up to the value of the £25,000 jackpot. The odds of winning are 50:1.
Players can buy a ticket and support the local community. There are over 84 registered causes to choose from when purchasing your tickets. The chosen cause receives 50% of the £1 ticket, with an additional 10% going to further support the local community.
Good causes not only receive 50% of the profits from ticket sales from their page, they also receive a host of bespoke marketing materials and support, including their own lottery webpage.
Anyone can sign up for free at the Bracknell Forest Lottery website or call 01344 590321 to register.
CSC has organised 10-week beginners chess courses to start in September at both Bracknell Library and Crowthorne Library. Those interested can find out more by emailing email@example.com.
