Tomorrow is the 10th annual Cycle to Work Day and residents are being encouraged to switch up their commute and swap their drive for a cycle ride.
Cycle to Work Day is an event for everyone, from people who haven’t hopped on a bike since school, to committed cycle commuters. It’s also the perfect time to join the Love to Ride community who are giving away even more great prizes to celebrate this year’s event, including a bike up to the value of £1,500 and a Fitbit Charge 5 Fitness Tracker worth £129.99!
Love to Ride is an online platform where riders can log their cycle journeys, earn badges, set goals, and get rewarded for their hard work. Users can connect with other local riders to share pictures, stories and cycle routes with each other.
Residents can plan their route to work in and around the borough by using our walking and cycling route maps.
Cllr Chris Turrell, Executive Member for Planning and Transport, said:
“With such a well-connected network of cycling and walking routes around the borough, it is now easier than ever to swap your car journey for something more active.
“Not only can this benefit your physical and mental health, helping you get ready for the day ahead, but it’s also better for the local environment and our carbon footprint.”
