Our late sovereign Queen Elizabeth II: arrangements for public condolences

Photo of Her Majesty The Queen

Following the immensely sad announcement of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, a national book of condolences has been created where the thoughts, prayers and tributes will be recorded from across the country. This can be accessed on the monarchy website.

A Bracknell Forest book of condolence is available every day from 9am until 4:30pm in Princess Square.

The condolence book will remain open during the national period of mourning and will then be kept in the borough’s archives for future generations.

We anticipate many people may wish to pay their condolences and advise a waiting time is to be expected.  We kindly request that residents give each other space when waiting.

A designated area on Station Green, opposite Time Square, is available for compostable floral tributes only, in line with The Queen’s beliefs. We kindly request that no other items are laid, such as soft toys or candles and plastic wrappings are removed from flowers. Please use the bins provided to dispose of any packaging. Please do not place tributes on surrounding pavements or roads. Our colleagues will respectfully maintain the tributes during this time.
