Mill Lane footbridge cleaning

A key footbridge in the borough will be given a much needed spruce-up from Monday 31 October - restoring its appearance and removing rubbish that has accumulated on it over the past few years.

The Mill Lane footbridge connects Easthampstead and Great Hollands. It will be cleaned by a specialist contractor, which will also restore the bridge’s paintwork to white. The work will not only make the bridge look better - it will also make sure it remains safe for pedestrians to use.

Overnight road closures

To enable the work to take place quickly and safely, there will be 8 overnight road closures of Mill Lane between Wildridings Roundabout and Hanworth Roundabout.

The overnight road closures will be from 8pm to 6am on:

  • Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November - Mill Lane southbound (towards Crowthorne)
  • Wednesday 2, Thursday 3, Friday 4 and Monday 7 November - Mill Lane in both directions
  • Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 November - Mill Lane northbound (towards Bracknell)

During the closures, there will be a signed diversion route on Nine Mile Ride and the A322 to the Twin Bridges junction in both directions.

The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists throughout the work.
