Working together with the community

The council is committed to working equally and jointly with residents to help create and improve services. This is known as co-production.

There are several excellent co-production initiatives underway across Bracknell Forest Council. There is also a lot of work that includes residents which may not be called co-production. We know this is sometimes confusing.

The council has committed to improving its approach to co-production.

As part of this, we are developing a council wide plan for co-production, setting out what we mean by this locally, as well as our ambitions. We want to identify when it is best to use co-production.

To bring greater expertise, the council will be working with the Ideas Alliance to develop the plan. The Ideas Alliance is a social enterprise that connects communities and organisations. They have a wealth of experience across the health and social care sector in:

  • community engagement
  • research
  • collaboration
  • co-production

The views and experiences of residents are invaluable to the success of the plan. We are inviting residents to get involved by joining one of our workshops, to help us understand what working more collaboratively with you could look like.
