Get crafty at The Lexicon

Hands doing crafts at a table

Craft Coop, a social enterprise business, will be opening its doors in Princess Square next month.

Also known as a community interest company, Craft Coop was set up to benefit the local community.

Its arrival will provide shoppers at The Lexicon with a hand made gift shop and community space. It will give local artists the opportunity to sell their creations to more people.

This will be Craft Coop’s fifth store. It is keen to hear from the following people across Bracknell Forest to join its community:

  • artists
  • jewellers
  • potters
  • homeware creators
  • card makers
  • painters

As well as being a ‘handmade gift-shop with a social mission’, Craft Coop will offer a programme of workshops where people can learn new skills.

Susan Halliwell, chief executive, Bracknell Forest Council said:

“We were keen to encourage a community-driven organisation such as Craft Coop to The Lexicon. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund gave us the opportunity to bring this to the town centre. This shop will give local artists a stepping stone into retail, as well as offer fun activities for shoppers.”
