Small electrical goods recycling
Many retailers have recovery schemes for electrical items.
You can take small electrical items to the tip to be recycled, or you can visit one of our local recycling days or local recycling points:
Local recycling days for small electrical items
Twice a year a small electrical recycling day is held. The next recycling day will be held on Saturday 22 September 2018, times and locations to be confirmed.
Your small electricals will be stripped down and the electrical appliance components can be used in circuit boards and electric motors. Scrap metal can be extracted and melted down to form new metal-based components. When recycled, one iron contains enough steel to produce 13 steel cans.
We will also be collecting clothing. We can accept all clothing, handbags, belts, shoes in pairs, linens, blankets and towels. Please do not bring any duvets as we cannot recycle these.
If you attend one of our roadshows remember you can collect 500 reward points for recycling your small electrical items. Don’t forget to take your e+ card with you and get it scanned.
Local small electrical recycling points
Winkfield Parish Council and Sandhurst Town Council have made arrangements for local residents to take small electrical items to collection points at their offices any time they are open. Unfortunately you cannot be credited with any recycling points.
For opening times of each location please go to the relevant website:
Bulky waste collections
With a paid-for bulky collection up to three small electrical items can also be taken at no extra cost.
What small items we will (and won't) accept
As a general rule we can take small electrical items if they can easily fit in a standard supermarket carrier bag. This doesn't include items that have screens such as laptops, notebooks or tablets. Items we do not accept can be taken to Longshot Lane.
