Bracknell town centre
Bracknell town centre is being transformed into an exciting, vibrant destination for the people of Bracknell Forest and the wider Thames Valley area.
It is being developed in phases. Phase 1 was completed in 2011 when a new £6m Waitrose store opened on Bond Way. Phase 2 was completed on 7 September 2017, when the £240m The Lexicon opened.
The Lexicon was developed by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) and Bracknell Forest Council with support from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
It has created a new social and cultural heart for the area - bringing a high-quality mix of shops, restaurants and entertainment within vibrant public spaces to the town centre.
Retailers open at The Lexicon include:
- Arcadia (Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Burton)
- River Island
- Fat Face
- Carphone Warehouse
- Kiko Milano
- New Look
Restaurants already open:
- Gourmet Burger Kitchen
- Pizza Express
A number of retailers and restaurants are due to open in the coming weeks, including: Office, Accessorize, Charles Tyrwhitt, Costa and Tang’s.
A new 12-screen 4DX Cineworld multiplex also opened as part of The Lexicon on 15, September 2017.
Work is continuing to develop Princess Square and the dining quarter around the old Bentalls store, called The Deck.
As part of the next phase, the council is reviewing plans for the civic quarter, Market Square and the southern gateway.
