Here are some of the most frequent questions we've had about parking at The Lexicon.

How many car parks are at The Lexicon?

There are 4 multi-storey car parks and 3 surface car parks that are within walking distance of The Lexicon.

The multi-storey car parks are:

  • Braccan Walk
  • High Street
  • Princess Square
  • The Avenue

The surface car parks are:

  • Albert Road
  • Wick Hill
  • Weather Way

Bracknell Forest Council runs all the car parks except Princess Square, which is run directly by The Lexicon.

What are the opening times for the car parks?

All of the car parks are open 24 hours a day, except for Princess Square.

Princess Square car park opening hours are:

  • Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 7.30pm
  • Saturday - 7:30am to 7pm
  • Sunday - 9am to 6pm

Is there an evening rate?

Yes, the evening rate for all car parks (except Princess Square, Wick Hill and Albert Rd) is £1.50 from 6pm to 6am.

How is the fee calculated if I park before 6pm but leave after 6pm?

Vehicles remaining in the car park after 6pm will incur the night charge in addition to charges already due.

So, if you parked at 4pm and left at 7pm you would be charged the 2 hourly rate of £2.50 (from 4pm to 6pm) and the night charge of £1.50 from 6pm.

Anyone entering after 6pm (and before 6am) will only incur the nightly charge.

Can I park at Princess Square in the evening?

Princess Square car park opening hours are:

  • Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 7.30pm
  • Saturday - 7:30am to 7pm
  • Sunday - 9am to 6pm

Are there disabled spaces in each car park?

Yes, all car parks have disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders.

Is there a cheaper rate for blue badge holders?

No, blue badge holders will need to pay the same tariff as all other patrons.

However, there are 5 free on-street disabled parking bays for blue badge holders.

There are:

  • 2 disabled parking bays by Time Square
  • 3 disabled parking bays by the police station

How many spaces are there at The Lexicon?

There are more than 3,700 parking spaces across The Lexicon, 500 of these are short stay spaces at Princess Square.

How can I find out which car parks are busy?

You can use The Lexicon app which is free to download on the app store.

You can also check the electronic message boards which are located on roads approaching the town centre. 

Are there any parent and child spaces?

There are parent and child spaces at Braccan Walk and High Street.

While The Avenue doesn’t have dedicated parent and child spaces, its general parking spaces are larger than normal to accommodate the needs of parents with young children.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, you can use debit or credit cards at all multi-storey and surface car parks.

Will you be changing the prices over Christmas?

No, there are no plans to change the price of any of the council’s car parks (Braccan Walk, High Street, The Avenue, Albert Road, Wick Hill and Weather Way) over the festive period.

Do the car parks have toilets?

The following car parks have toilets, including disabled and baby change facilities:

  • The Avenue
  • High Street
  • Princess Square

Is there a parking app for payment?

Currently, you can pay for parking at Albert Road car park via the Indigo Parking app. 

We are working on expanding this further to include other car parks next year.

Do you offer a residents’ parking discount?

There are no concessions for residents. The Lexicon’s long-stay car parks offer good value for money for all visitors and a reduced night time rate of £1.50 for parking between 6pm and 6am.

Where do I park my vehicle if it’s over 2m?

Please use Weather Way for all vehicles over 2m. This car park can be found next to Bracknell Library and behind the new Fenwick building.

Its rates are the same as all the other council car parks and it is open 24 hours.
