Bugs and beasties - 6 May 2017 to 22 July 2017

KS1 - Can you identify a food chain or collect a mini beast to observe, identify and classify? Part one of the session is an interactive show. In part two, spend time outside with sweep nets to find out which bugs live in Swinley Forest. This show lasts an hour.

KS2 - Enter the world of the mini beasts and use your observations and investigative skills to discover more about the animals living in out forest. Part one of the session is an interactive show. In part two, spend time outside with sweep nets to find out which bugs live in Swinley Forest, recording your findings on our bug chart. This show lasts an hour.

Fire and light - 11 September 2017 to 15 December 2017

This show looks at the sources of light on our planet. It considers the properties of fire and how chemicals can react with each other. What does a candle need to keep burning? Which creatures create their own light? What is the fire triangle? Come and marvel at our tornado of fire! This show will excite your children whilst covering a range of basic science principles.

Pushes and pulls (KS1) - 15 January 2018 to 29 March 2018

Baby Eric the Owl falls out of a tree and is looking for his mummy! On his way to find her, he visits places like the play area and coffee shop. He finds out lots more about how we make something change direction and use pushes or pulls to change the shape of something.

Is there a link between sports and forces? Discover friction, measure pushes and pulls and investigate the invisible force of gravity. In practical fun demonstrations the show also includes the properties of magnets.
