Welcome fund for children in education

Wellington College has given us a grant for schools in Bracknell Forest to support refugees. We must use the funding for education purposes and to improve outcomes for children.

Families facing money problems can get some of this funding for their child's education support needs.

It could be used for things like:

  • laptops for completing schoolwork
  • school uniform
  • stationery and other school equipment
  • activities such as after school clubs or school trips

There is a maximum cap of £800 per pupil.

This grant cannot be used for direct teaching costs such as one-to-one tuition or language support.

Eligibility

Funding is available for children in refugee schemes who:

  • have educational support needs
  • live in Bracknell Forest or attend a Bracknell Forest school

This includes children from Ukraine, Afghan and Syrian refugee schemes.

How to apply

Schools and the council’s family link workers will help you access this support. They will fill in a short application form and include supporting evidence. This provides monitoring information and record keeping.

To apply, contact your school or family link worker.
