Equality and diversity policy

Bracknell Forest Community Learning is committed to the elimination of unfair discrimination and the provision of equality of opportunity for all in learning.

Bracknell Forest Community Learning will follow the requirements of the Equality Act 2010, which includes disability discrimination.

Bracknell Forest Community Learning aims to make sure that nobody applying for a learning programme receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of:

  • sex
  • age
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sexual orientation
  • gender reassignment
  • disability
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • other circumstances

Bracknell Forest Community Learning will make all reasonable adjustments to make sure that learners with a learning difficulty, disability or known medical condition are not substantially disadvantaged.

The learner will disclose if they have a learning difficulty, disability, or known medical condition. They will make sure that they have talked through their support needs with their tutor so that they can make all reasonable adjustments to help the learner succeed.

Bracknell Forest Community Learning will take positive action, including seeking and delivering adequate resources to implement this policy and evaluate its impacts.

This policy is in line with the corporate Bracknell Forest Equality and Diversity Policy.
