Request a copy birth certificate
We can provide copies of certificates for any births that occurred in and were recorded in the Bracknell registration district. These would normally be home births.
Birth certificate types
This is a full copy of the birth entry and includes particulars of parentage and registration. This type of certificate is required to obtain a passport for people born on or after 1 January 1983.
This shows only the name and surname, sex, date of birth and district of birth.
Registers that we hold
We hold registers for all births that occurred in Bracknell Forest since 1837 and any births which took place in South Ascot/Sunningdale/Sunninghill, including Heatherwood Hospital, from 1 April 1934 to 31 March 1998.
If you were born after 1 April 1998 in Heatherwood, South Ascot, Sunningdale or Sunninghill you should apply to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead register office.
What we do not provide
We do not provide certificates for births that occurred outside of our district. If the birth occurred outside of Bracknell Forest, please contact the local authority in which the birth took place.

You may use our standard or priority service for certificate copies.
Standard Service - £11 per copy
Your certificate will be ready within 15 working days . You can either collect from Time Square (Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm) or we can send it to you by 2nd class post.
Priority Service - £35 per copy
Orders placed on Monday to Friday before 3pm
Your certificate will be ready for collection from Time Square on the same day (up until 4:30pm), or we can send it to you by 1st class post.
Orders placed on Monday to Friday after 3pm, or on Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday
Your certificate will be ready for collection from Time Square between 10am to 4:30pm on the next working day, or we can send it to you by 1st class post.
Terms and conditions
Payment is required in full before any certificate can be issued.
Please note that once the certificate has been posted, it is no longer the responsibility of the council and all claims for missing items should be addressed to Royal Mail directly.
