About business rates

Business rates (or non-domestic rates) are the way that those who occupy non-domestic property contribute towards the cost of local services.

Most non-domestic premises have to pay business rates. This includes commercial properties such as shops, offices, pubs, warehouses and factories.

If you use a building or part of a building for business, it is likely that you will have to pay business rates.

If you would like to make an enquiry about business rates or request information about your account please contact Revenue Services.

The latest valuation list came into effect on 1 April 2017.
