Selling to the council
The council spends over £100 million annually providing a wide range of goods, works and services from more than 3,600 suppliers.
We buy everything from stationery to social care services to school extensions. The approach we take to this spending has a significant impact on the community at large and the resources we have to deliver essential local services.
We advertise all new opportunities on the South East Business Portal and Contracts Finder. Both websites are free to use. If you register you will get automatic email alerts every time an opportunity suitable for your business is advertised by any council in the region.
To contact the right person, please read who to contact in procurement.
Who we want to do business with
We expect our contractors to be:
- financially sound
- technically competent - we may seek references from previous customers of sufficient capacity to handle the work
- understanding of Bracknell Forest requirements and wider social responsibilities (please refer to the equality guidance document below)
- easy to do business with - we expect attentive service and efficient invoicing processes
Invitation to tender
Our decision to invite you to tender (or to submit a quotation) with us will be based on the information you supply at the selection questionnaire stage, where used, as well as your references.
If we want you to submit tender or quotation we will contact you with a formal request. This is usually directly by email or through our e-Procurement System (which is linked to the South East Business Portal).
If you have submitted a tender or quotation which is unsuccessful and you are not satisfied with the level of detail provided in our response, please contact the relevant officer to find out if further feedback is available.
For any Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) procurement, an official standstill letter outlining any relative advantages of the winning tender will be issued.
