Seeing friends and family

We know that your family and friends are important to you.

That’s why a plan will be made for you to stay in touch with family and other important people in your life, as long as it is safe to do so.

This plan will include all the arrangements and what your views are about it.

Sometimes the court will decide on how much contact you should have.

All contact plans are different, and everyone feels differently about contact.

If you’re not happy with your plan you can ask for changes.

If you want something to stop, start or change, speak to your social worker or your Independent Reviewing Officer.

Or you can ask for an Independent Advocate to help you put your views across.

Contact booklet

SiLSiP created a booklet about contact which includes advice and tips.

Ask your social worker for one.
