Bracknell Forest Community Climate Action (BFCCA) is a local charity which aims to represent everyone who lives in, works in and visits the borough. Its mission is to engage the community with climate change and encourage everyone to take action to mitigate and adapt to its impacts in the local area. You can join the BFCCA and volunteer to get involved in its activities on its website.

A key role of BFCCA is the development of the Community Climate Emergency Strategy. This will complement the council’s own climate change strategy in driving forward action towards net-zero in the borough.
Joint Climate Action Board
The Joint Climate Action Board (JCAB) brings together representatives of key local organisations to collaborate on climate action.
Board meetings take place quarterly and are chaired by Councillor Mary Temperton, who is Leader of the Council.
BFCCA representatives attend these JCAB meetings to report on actions and achievements, and demonstrate progress towards our community net-zero goals.
You can find more details of all meetings on our JCAB meetings page.
Get involved
The BFCCA and JCAB are supported by working groups. These are self-led and organised by volunteers from across the borough.
The working groups:
- share best practice in the sector and opportunities for action
- collect updates from members on their climate actions
- select representatives to contribute to the Joint Climate Action Board
- take on joint projects to tackle climate change, where appropriate
- help connections and networking
We encourage you to join one or more of the working groups. You can sign up by filling in our climate change initiative form.
