Group support programmes can be a valuable way to combine peer support with professional guidance. They can support you on your journey to recovery and help you better understand how domestic abuse has affected you and your family.
We offer a range of programmes through our family hubs. These take place in a safe and supportive environment.
Council programmes
Freedom programme
This programme is for women who have been through or are currently experiencing domestic abuse. The course helps you make sense of what's happened and explores how domestic abuse affects both you and your children. It will also help you become more aware of the different forms domestic abuse can take.
This programme is open to all women aged 18 and over.
Length: 10 weeks
DART (domestic abuse recovering together)
This NSPCC program helps mothers and their children who have gone through domestic abuse and are now recovering. DART offers a safe space where families can talk openly about their experiences with professionals to support them. The program helps families rebuild and strengthen their relationships while learning about domestic abuse and its effects on family life.
Age of child: 7 to 14 years

Domestic abuse recovery toolkit
This programme is for women who have experienced any form of domestic abuse. It builds on the Freedom Programme, helping participants to find positive ways to cope with daily life.
For adults only.
Length: 10 weeks
Who's in charge?
'Who's in charge?' is a 9-week child-to-parent violence (CPV) programme for parents and carers. It helps those whose children are abusive or violent towards them or who appear out of parental control. The structure of the programme is 2.5-hour sessions with a 2-month follow-up.
Age of child: 10 to 18 years

SAFE!
SAFE! is an independent charity that supports children and families in the Thames Valley. They help those affected by crime or abuse through one-on-one and group sessions.
