If you or someone you live with is disabled, funding is available to help with the cost of home adaptations.
There are 2 types of funding available:
- Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant
- Discretionary Disabled Facilities Assistance (DDFA)
DDFA is the 'umbrella' term given to the following types of grant:
- Discretionary Disabled Facilities Grant Top Up
- Contribution Assistance Grant
- Relocation Grant
- Hospital Prevention and Discharge Assistance
- Safe and Secure Grant
- Dementia, Cognitive and Behavioural Conditions Grant
Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant
This grant is available to everyone who meets the eligibility criteria. Funding of up to £30,000 can be awarded.
Discretionary Disabled Facilities Assistance
These grants are available to help with the cost of housing adaptations in addition to, or instead of, a mandatory grant. You will need to meet the eligibility criteria for the Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant to apply for some of these. For some of the grants, eligibility criteria is discretionary and assessed on a case by case basis. The total sum of money that can be awarded for these varies.
