We are an inclusive employer and part of the Disability Confident scheme. We want to make sure that all applicants are supported during the recruitment process.
We offer reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
If you need any reasonable adjustments, email recruitment@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.
On this page we have included some examples of how we can support individual needs. This list is not exhaustive and you may have other requests.
Your application
We can give you a paper application form that you can fill out by hand. This is an alternative to using our recruitment portal.
If you choose to declare a disability, we will offer you an interview if you meet the essential criteria of the role.
The interview
Examples of reasonable adjustments at the interview include:
- allowing you to bring notes to your interview to refer to
- giving extra time for the interview – normally up to 50 minutes
- giving extra time for any tests or other assessment activities
- wherever possible, offering interviews either face to face or by Microsoft Teams
- providing interview questions in a written format
- providing interview questions or themes before the interview
- providing a sign language interpreter
- access to on-site parking for interviews if you are a blue badge holder
When you join us
We may be able to provide specialist software to support you.
Access to Work
Access to Work is a government scheme. It helps employees by offering extra support, beyond the adjustments that the employer would usually provide.
This can include the provision of:
- support workers
- British Sign Language interpreters
- travel support, such as taxis
- specialist software
It applies whether you are working in an office or at home.
You can find more information about Access to Work on GOV.UK.
