Bugs and beasties workshop

An hour long workshop with 30 minutes in the classroom learning about bugs and 30 minutes outside in the forest catching them!

Join us once a month between October and April for a special day at the exhibition where home-educating families can explore, learn, and discover together.
On these dedicated days, home-educating adults receive 50% off standard adult admission. This makes it even easier to enjoy a day of science and learning.
For an additional cost, you can experience our bespoke, curriculum-linked science shows, created to complement home education and spark curiosity.
Pre-booking for entry is recommended. Science shows and additional activities are not included in the admission price. Spaces for activities are limited, so we strongly advise booking in advance.

Prices for our home educator days are:
- adult - £5.60
- child (3 to 16 years) - £8.20
- student - £8.20
- over 65s - £8.20
- visitor with a disability (carer goes free) - £8.20
- under 3s - free
- show/backpacks - £2.30, adults go free
Activity hire details
Our nature explorers backpacks are aimed at 4 to 8 year olds and our materials detectives are aimed at 8 to 11 year olds.
Backpacks are self-led experiences. They cost £2.30 per child.
