Bracknell Forest has different versions of the Personal Educational Plan (PEP). These are:
- early years
- statutory school age - primary and secondary schools
- post-16 (including for those not in education, employment, or training and unaccompanied asylum seeking children)
All our PEPs are administered by Welfare Call.
For young people new into care and of statutory school age an initial PEP will be completed by the Virtual School in liaison with the social worker and the school. The first full PEP meeting should then be scheduled within 20 days.
Bracknell Forest’s Virtual School undertakes regular PEP monitoring activities which include:
- quality assurance of all PEPs for Bracknell Forest children looked after
- representatives of the Virtual School being present at PEP meetings
The Virtual School also regularly links in with area safeguarding leads and consultant social workers to provide support to units when completing the PEP. If needed, the Virtual School will attend area team meetings and unit meetings to train social care staff to complete the PEP.
