A summary has also been provided below.

Peacock Meadows and Jennett's Hill concepts

Proposes creating 3 different models:

  • Skylark
  • Lapwing
  • Nightingale

One of the 3 bird sound wave models will be developed for the high point on Peacock Meadows.

The other 2 will be smaller artworks at the entrances to both Peacock Meadows and Jennetts Hill.

Fulmar Square concept

We propose blasting and inlaying into granite or a hard limestone an illustrative map,
that show all the roads surrounding Fulmar Square that take the name of a bird.

Each bird will be set into the stone form.

The birds can be inlayed into the stone in a variety of different materials.

  1. Contrasting stone
  2. Glass
  3. Ceramic
  4. Vitreous enamel
  5. Cast bronze
  6. Etched metal

The form of the artwork will develop following consultation. The following options are only indicative sketch designs.

Perhaps standing stones in the shape of wings, with the map and birds being read on the flat face.

The map and birds could be carved and inlayed in a series of seats that surround the  square.

A feather shaped stone totem with the map and birds being read on the flat face.
