Bracknell Market has relaunched to provide shoppers with a selection of fresh produce and street food stalls.
Following hot on the heels of The Lexicon's launch earlier this month, the market relaunched on 29 September, under a new management company, to further enhance the town's shopping experience.
The market is located outside Princess Square and features a selection of stalls including: fresh fruit and veg, meat and fish, delicatessen, bakery and flowers. There is also a small selection of street food stalls offering quick-eats, such as Thai and Japanese dishes.
The council appointed the new management company Hughmark in the summer, following the departure of the previous company in the spring. Hughmark has experience in managing markets in Basingstoke and Kempton Park and has been working with the council to ensure the re-launched market offers a wide selection of high-quality stalls.
The market is open from 8:30am to 4pm every Friday and Saturday.
Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said:
It's great news that Bracknell Market will be re-launching this Friday as it will bring another dimension to the shopping experience that Bracknell town centre and The Lexicon offers.
We made it clear in the spring that we would work to find a new market management company as we know the market is important to our residents and shoppers. The new Bracknell Market will offer a variety of fresh produce and street food to complement the shopping and dining experience of The Lexicon.
Lew Hughes from Hughmark said:
The market is relatively compact due to its excellent location but high on quality. All of the traders are known to us and they work with us in other locations so they are highly recommended. We will shortly be introducing a weekly promotion whereby customers have the opportunity to win £50 worth of goods of their choice on a weekly basis. Further details on this promotion will be posted shortly on Bracknell Market’s new Facebook page.
The council will continue to scope out the requirements for the market's permanent home, which is planned for Market Square. This is currently being looked into as part of the council's overall town centre masterplan review, which will outline the next phases of Bracknell's regeneration. The market will continue to trade outside Princess Square in the interim.
