In this course, you will learn basic techniques and be able to complete a simple project. 

This course is suitable for complete beginners or those looking to practice or improve their pen, ink and wash skills.

By the end of the course learners will be able to:

  • use a dip pen and ink to create lines
  • create different tones using straight lines and groups of lines
  • experiment with different wash techniques using watercolour paint
  • complete a simple project using the techniques learnt

There is no entry requirement for this course.

All materials will be provided.

Learning will by through:

  • formal instruction
  • practical demonstration
  • discussion
  • individual instruction
  • peer evaluation

How is your progress checked

An initial assessment will be carried out for each leaner to assess their current knowledge and starting point and what they would like to achieve on the course. 

Individual help and instruction will be provided to each learner to support their progress.

Learners can progress to other wellbeing courses.
