For parents/carers to gather information about secondary schools and the transition process
For Parents/carers to join their child in school and participate in practical activities which support the transition to secondary school
To offer parents/carers information about further learning and planning opportunities
Parents feel more confident about supporting their child’s learning:
- Understand more about the different challenges their child may encounter during the transition process
- Know more about strategies to use at home to support their child’s needs
- Children are ’on task’, and communicating with their supporting adult during the session
- Children are engaged and supported with techniques and ideas
Positive relationships between child & parent, parent & parent, school and parent are fostered
