2 hour paediatric first aid: February 2026

The course is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to deal with some common first aid situations involving minor injuries with infants and children.

The course is delivered in a relaxed, friendly and informative way.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • describe what to do in the case of choking
  • explain how to treat minor burns or scalds
  • identify at least 2 symptoms associated with a bump to the head

You should bring:

  • a pen and paper for making notes

Teaching method

Learning will take place in a relaxed enjoyable session. Various teaching methods will be used, supported by practical sessions.

How is your progress checked

The session will identify aims for you to achieve.

Your progress will be monitored by question and answer sessions and tutor observation.

Next steps

Learners can progress on to 6-hour paediatric first aid or other wellbeing courses.
