Entry requirements
BKSB diagnostic assessment.
Teaching method
This course is classroom based. You will work individually, in pairs and in small groups.
PowerPoint, videos, mathematical resources and handouts will be used to support different learning styles.
How is your progress checked
Progress is checked through:
- ongoing tutor assessments
- termly assessments
- marking classwork and homework
- formal exam at the end of the course
Extra study required at home
Homework will be set each week.
Assessment
The Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 consists of one externally assessed assessment.
Each assessment comprises two sections – a non-calculator section and a calculator section (calculator permitted).
