Paediatric first aid for practitioners: September 2025

This comprehensive 12 hour course is designed to give the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deal effectively with paediatric emergencies. This includes common medical conditions.

It is suitable for:

  • nursery and primary school practitioners
  • childminders
  • nannies
  • pre and after school club staff 
  • sport coaches

The course meets the requirements of Ofsted and EYFS.

On successful completion you will get a Paediatric First Aid Certificate (valid for 3 years) and a paediatric first aid manual.

Entry requirements

No previous experience is required but this course does require a minimum of Level 1 English (or equivalent).

In order to gain the certificate you must be suitable able to turn someone into recovery position and demonstrate effective CPR.

Teaching method

This engaging course will take place in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Various teaching methods will be used supported by practical sessions.

How is your progress checked

Continual assessment of practical skills and a multiple choice exam at the end of the day.

Assessment

There will be a self-evaluation at the end of the session.
