Operators

There are 2 main rail operators providing services for Bracknell Forest.

South West Trains

South West Trains stop at Bracknell and Martins Heron stations. Trains go to Reading and London Waterloo and stations in between.

There is a bus service to Heathrow Airport from Feltham station on this line.

A non stop coach service runs between Reading station and Heathrow Airport.

Great Western Railway

Great Western Railway trains run through Bracknell Forest and provide access to Gatwick Airport (by Redhill) and Reading, with stations at Sandhurst and Crowthorne.

Railcards for 16 and 17 year olds

Young people aged 16 and 17 are able to buy a railcard for £30 which gives them a 50% discount on rail travel at any time. For more information, visit the 16 to 17 Saver website

Railcards

There are a range of railcards available which can provide significant discounts on rail travel. For more information visit the Railcard website.

Subsidised railcards

There is a new process to follow when applying for a subsidised railcard.

If you are a Bracknell Forest resident who is disabled or over 60, you can get 20% off the cost of purchasing a:

  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • Senior Railcard

To received this discount, email customer.services@bracknell-forest.gov.uk and include:

  • ‘Railcard Promo Code’ as the subject title
  • your name and address
  • the type of railcard you need

If you are unable to do this, call us on 01344 352000 and we will be able to help you.

We will give you a unique promotional code. You will then need to apply online using the Railcard website and provide the code when asked.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can apply by phoning:

  • 0345 3000 250 for Senior Railcards
  • 0345 605 0525 for a Disabled Persons Railcard
  • 0345 601 0132 if using a minicom

You must get a promotional code from us before you call any of these numbers.

Residents can apply for a subsidised railcard even if you hold, or plan to apply for, a concessionary bus pass.
