Monday 18 February - Natural History Society - a talk on Polecats and Pine Martens

The Bracknell Forest Natural History Society invites you to a talk ‘On the Trail of Polecats and Pine Martens’ by Lizzie Croose.

When: Monday 18 February, 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Where to meet: Recital Room at South Hill Park, Ringmead, Bracknell, RG12 7PA.

Cost: Membership is £12 per year with an entrance fee of £1 for evening meetings – or come along as a visitor and pay £3 for the evening.

Tuesday 19 February - nature quest at South Hill Park

Young Explorers are invited to join us in a nature related scavenger hunt throughout the grounds of South Hill Park.

When: Tuesday 19 February, 10am to midday.

Where to meet: Gazebo on rear field at South Hill Park, Ringmead, Bracknell, RG12 7PA.

Cost: £4.14 per child

Tuesday 19 February - volunteer led walk - Swinley Park

Join us for a volunteer led walk. This is a rambler walk - it is up to 5 1/2 miles and will last up to 2 hours 15 minutes.

When: Tuesday 19 February at 10:30am.

Where to meet: Englemere Pond Car Park, Off Swinley Road (B3017) Ascot SL5 8BA.

No booking required.

Wednesday 20 February - half term wildlife workshop at Horseshoe Lake

Learn a range of outdoor skills including how to build, light and load a bonfire. Learn the safe way to cut down small trees and find out why this helps wildlife. Discover the best way to roast marshmallows on an open fire.

Tools and refreshments are provided. Please bring gloves, outdoor clothing and wellies! Best suited for 7 years and over.

When: Wednesday 20 February, 10am to midday

Cost: £4.14 per person

Saturday 13 April – The Big Tree Climb at Westmorland Park

Fun for 6 year olds and over. Climb up into the tree canopy and take in amazing views.

When: Saturday 13 April, 1 hour slots between 10am and 3:45pm

Where to meet: At Oak tree in Westmorland Park, off Westmorland Drive, Warfield, RG42 3QP.

Cost: £20 per climber

Join us for a volunteer led walk. This is a moderate walk - it is up to 4 miles and will last up to 1 hour 45 minutes.

No booking required.

Individual walks and talks from rangers

Organised groups can request a ranger to lead a walk or talk about a site or activity managed by our Parks and Countryside Service.

Please note, however, that the availability of rangers is very limited and usually targeted towards local community groups.
