The car park is open 24 hours a day.
Types of spaces
There are:
- 1,194 general spaces including
- 68 spaces for blue badge holders
- 4 spaces for electric car charging on the lower ground floor - for details on the charging points, visit bp pulse
- 14 motorcycle bays on the lower ground floor - 1 bike per bay
Blue badge spaces
Each floor has the following number of spaces:
- lower ground floor - 16 spaces
- ground floor - 16 spaces
- level 1 - 8 spaces
- level 2 - 10 spaces
- level 3 - 10 spaces
- level 4 - 8 spaces
Height restrictions
Height restriction barrier - 2 metres.
Weather way car park is a small surface car park next to The Avenue which does not have any height barrier restriction.
Charges
Bank and public holidays are charged at normal rates.
There are no exemptions or free concessions for Blue Badge holders in any of our charging car parks.
Rates apply to motorcycles.

Nightly charge
From 6pm to 6am the nightly charge is £2.10.
Cars that remain in the car park after 6pm will pay the nightly charge alongside any other fees due. Vehicles entering after 6pm will pay the nightly charge only.
Payment options
This is a pay on foot car park with paper-based tickets. You can use cash, debit, credit cards or contactless to pay. You can also pay by downloading The Lexicon app.
There are payment machines in the lobbies on each floor and a late payment near the exit.
Payment must be made before returning to your car. Provided that due payment has been made, the barriers at the exit should lift to allow exit without the use of a ticket. The barrier will recognise the number plate automatically.
Season tickets are not available for this car park.
Location
At the north side of the town centre, The Avenue car park adjoins the new retail area, giving direct access to Fenwick and Marks & Spencer. The main pedestrian entrance enters directly onto The Avenue, providing easy access to the shops, restaurants and cinema.
