School admissions arrangements

Admission arrangements set out how school places are allocated. They include information such as oversubscription criteria, designated areas, published admission numbers and how applications are processed.

Admission authorities must determine their admission arrangements by 28 February each year.

For academy and voluntary aided schools, the academy trust or governing body is the admission authority and is responsible for determining and publishing the admission arrangements. You can find these arrangements in our schools directory. They are listed on the individual school's page.

Consultation notice board

Consultations are held when admission arrangements are being reviewed or changed. They give parents, carers, schools and other interested people the opportunity to comment before arrangements are finalised.

There is no current consultation.

Admission arrangement consultations take place between October and January and will be listed on this page during that period.

Objecting to admission arrangements

You can make an objection to the Office of the School's Adjudicator if you think that any of the arrangements that have been set are:

  • unlawful
  • not in compliance with the School Admissions Code
  • not in compliance with relevant law relating to admissions

To do this, fill in a school admissions arrangements objection form on GOV.UK.
