Unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people

If you are a care leaver and an unaccompanied asylum-seeking young person, you have access to the following additional support.

Clothing allowance

If you do not have leave to remain, you will get a clothing allowance of £250, 3 times a year.

This is to make sure you are able to buy clothing essentials for each season.

SIM card costs

If you are spending money on a SIM card to stay in contact with family in another country, we can support you to pay for this each month.

Asylum claim meetings and interpreter

Your personal adviser, or someone else you know, will continue to support you to attend all meetings about your asylum claim. You will have access to an interpreter if you need this.

If you need an interpreter for other meetings, we can arrange this for you.

Youth club

We run a monthly youth club for asylum experienced people at Braccan Walk Youth Hub.

For more details, talk to your social worker or personal advisor.
