Solar for Schools helps schools cut energy costs and offers science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs for students.
We have partnered with Solar for Schools to install and manage solar power in Bracknell Forest schools.
Scheme benefits
Worry-free installation, funding and maintenance
Solar for Schools covers the upfront costs, installation, repairs and ongoing management of the solar PV system.
Long-term energy savings
Schools only pay for the energy they use at a lower rate than the market price, reducing their operational costs.
Annual education programs in energy, climate change and STEM
Students will learn about solar energy, sustainability and climate change by monitoring their school's solar performance.
Reduced climate impact
By switching to solar energy, schools lower their environmental impact by reducing their reliance on fossil fuels.
Free desktop feasibility studies
As part of our commitment to climate action, we have funded free desktop feasibility studies for all schools in the borough. These assess how much solar power you could generate on the school site and how much you could save on your electricity costs each year.
