We’re working to create a greener Bracknell Forest and want to hear your ideas. We’re working on finding and implementing projects across the borough to:
- make our roads and green spaces more attractive and pleasant to be in
- increase biodiversity, and support and protect our wildlife
- reduce air pollution and provide shade in hot weather
- reduce surface water flooding by capturing rainfall
- remove carbon dioxide from the air to tackle climate change
You can suggest projects you would like to see happen, such as:
- tree or hedge planting
- creating wildflower meadows
- creating ponds or swales
- creating community orchards or growing spaces
- creating green walls or roofs
- improving road verges
All projects submitted will be added to our list for consideration. Projects will be funded from sources such as:
- developer payments
- grant funding opportunities
- other contributions
This means that not all projects will be progressed immediately - but we want to have a list ready so that we can take advantage of opportunities as they come up.
Sites do not need to be on land you own. You do not need to commit to providing support for the project, but doing so will make it more likely that we will be able to progress it.
Before seeking funding and permissions to proceed, we may visit sites to:
- assess potential improvements
- assess viability
- confirm plans for the project
