Carer's emergency card
The Carer's Emergency Card gives you peace of mind that if something unexpected happens to you, someone will look after the person you care for.
If you fall ill or have an accident, carrying the Carer's Emergency Card will:
- let others know that someone you care for depends on you
- list your emergency contact details
- give the contact details of Adult Social Care, if needed
You should carry the card with you at all times.

Berkshire Care Directory
The Berkshire Care Directory is an independent guide. It offers detailed information about care and support services in Berkshire. It includes information on:
- care assessments
- funding social care
- supporting carers
- paying for care
The directory also lists various social care services, such as care homes, nursing homes and home care services. It offers guidance on making care decisions and accessing local support groups and initiatives.
Public Health and wellbeing support for carers
The Bracknell Forest Public Health Portal has information, services and activities to support health and wellbeing across the borough. Many of the resources available can be helpful for carers, who may find it difficult to prioritise their own health. The portal includes information on:
- local walking groups
- exercise classes
- healthy eating advice
- smoking cessation services
- mental wellbeing support
Know your rights as a working carer
Carers UK is a national charity for unpaid carers. They have put together a helpful guide on what statutory rights you may be entitled to as a working carer. This includes things such as flexible working, carers leave, and protection from discrimination.

National Carers Card
The National Carers Card was launched in 2019 alongside the National Disability Card. It allows unpaid carers to access concessions and exclusive discounts with various brands. The card can also be used as proof of your carers status.
