Appeals to the Disabled Facilities Grant Service

Asking the service manager to review your case

We want to resolve issues at the earliest opportunity.

If you disagree with the outcome of your grant application, you can ask the service manager to review your case.

You should tell the service manager why you believe the outcome is incorrect. The service manager will review your case and provide a response within 10 working days. This may be extended to 20 working days for complex cases.

To request a review, please contact the DFG service manager by:

  • email: dfg@bracknell-forest.gov.uk
  • in writing: Tammy Green, Team Manager (Disabled Facilities Grants
Early Help and Communities), Bracknell Forest Council, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD

What happens next

The service manager may request the details of your case to be presented to the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Board. This is so a collective decision can be made.

If the service manager has not done so, you can request your case be brought before the board if you disagree with their decision.

The board will be comprised of managers from the DFG and occupational therapy services. There will be at least one occupational therapist and, if necessary, a technical officer on the board.

You will be notified in writing of the decision made by the board.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of a review

The council has a corporate complaints procedure. The procedure will apply in relation to complaints about the implementation of processes relating the Housing Assistance Policy 2021 to 2026.

If you disagree with the board's decision, you should follow the council's complaints procedure. Your complaint will be considered a stage 2 complaint.

All complaints are treated seriously. If necessary, they will be reflected in subsequent reviews of the policy or in amendments to the way our services are delivered.
