Addiction is common and wherever you are and whatever your problem is, there are people who can help you.
New Hope provides a friendly, free and confidential service to anybody who is seeking help with a drug and/or alcohol addiction.
We run an 10-week rolling recovery day programme.

Mindfulness
In our mindfulness course we discuss the difference between fact and thoughts or opinions. We also look at:
- breathing techniques
- relaxation techniques
- looking at things from a different perspective
- different states of mind
- practicing mindfulness
Change
In this group we look at the stages of recovery. We look at:
- the spiral of change
- obstacles in your recovery
- breaking negative thought patterns
- the effects of stress and anxiety
- myth busting and different perspectives
- preparing for change
- staying motivated
Staying safe
This group is about supporting you through relapse prevention and harm reduction. It focuses on:
- triggers
- ways to cope
- reducing harm
- relapse prevention
Foundations of recovery
In this group we look at:
- setting goals
- techniques for dealing with difficult situations
- ‘a day at a time’ approach
- community support
Thinking hope
In this group we look at:
- motivation
- decision making
- keeping people safe
- self esteem
- gratitude
All about you
This group is all about you, helping you to take control of your physical and mental health so that you can build healthy relationships. It includes the concept of positive thinking and how this can improve your emotional wellbeing.

The building is open on a limited basis and the majority of services are being delivered remotely.
