You could get £500 if you refer someone through our employee referral scheme.
The person referred must:
- apply for a role eligible in the referral scheme
- be successful in their application of that role
The referrer will get:
- £250 when the person they referred joins the council
- £250 when they have completed 6 months service with us

How to make an employee referral
- Tell people you know about the great opportunities at the council.
- The person you have referred will need to apply for one of our roles included in the scheme.
- On the application form, ask them to select ‘referred by friend’ where they are asked where they heard about the role.
- Fill in the employee referral form and email it to recruitment@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.

Eligible roles in the scheme
Currently the scheme is open to referrals for the following roles:
- qualified social workers within adult and children's social care
- building control surveyors
- approved mental health professionals
- all procurement roles
- chartered surveyors
Referral payments
When the person you referred begins working for the council, you will get your first referral payment of £250 in your monthly pay.
The second payment will be made after they have completed their first 6 months employment with us.
Payments will be dependent on:
- the recruitment team receiving the employee referral form
- the role being in scope of the employee referral scheme
- confirmation from the recruiting manager of:
- employment starting
- completing 6 months service
Payments will be made in the next payroll run after receipt, subject to payroll closing dates.
All payments are subject to pension, tax and NI deductions.
Terms and conditions
To be eligible to receive a referral payment you must be directly employed by Bracknell Forest Council (BFC).
The scheme does not apply to the following members of staff:
- those serving their notice period
- agency workers, external contractors, elected members or anyone who is not an employee of the council
- members of staff who are directly involved in the recruitment process, such as the shortlisting and interview panel
The person being referred must be known personally to the referrer.
They must not be:
- currently employed by BFC or have previously worked for BFC in the 12 months before the start date of the recruitment process
- a previous employee who was dismissed through the disciplinary or performance improvement process
- currently employed as an agency worker
