Take Pride is an initiative organised and steered through the council, in association with the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
The aim of Take Pride is to encourage local volunteers and community groups who live or work in Bracknell Forest to help maintain a clean and green environment.
Take Pride provides a great opportunity for volunteers to get involved in making a positive difference to the environment and our community. Volunteering is a great way to share skills, knowledge and leisure time with like minded people to improve the quality of life in our community.
There are a number of dedicated groups and individual volunteers who undertake regular litter picking around their neighbourhood. They include:
- youth and community groups
- Guides and Scouts
- local conservation groups
- staff working at local companies
They all work hard to assist the council in keeping the borough looking clean and tidy.
You can get involved in the following types of activities:
- litter picking
- community clean ups (including leaf clearance)
- community garden projects
- helping out in an emergency or when there is snow or flooding
- assisting with recycling initiatives
Equipment is available on loan to you and your teams to assist with the event. This includes litter pickers, high visibility waistcoats, and gloves.
Bags are provided to collect the litter. Arrangements can be made to collect bags from agreed locations. Please contact customer services with the details.
Volunteers are encouraged to separate recyclable materials such as plastic bottles, cans, paper and card, and place them in the clear bag provided and take glass bottles to the nearest bottle banks
