Stages of work

Once we get the start notice, we may ask you to tell us when specific stages of work have been reached. These stages could include periods before, during, or after the work. This could include a period in which the work must not be covered up.

Work regarded as commenced

In line with regulation 16 (3C), you must give notice about work regarded as commenced. This is the second form that needs to be filled in.

Work regarded as commenced is not the same as a start notice. We need to know when the work can be protected from the application being considered to have lapsed. For more details about the lapse of building control, read regulation 46A
