Building site inspections

An officer will only come out on a site visit if a valid building regulations application has been submitted and a start notice given.

Under Regulation 16 (1), work cannot begin until start notice has been given and at least 2 days have passed since the end of day it was given.

A standard 16 (1) notice is available from Building Control Forms.

Site inspection requests should be made by 4pm the day before the inspection is required.

To demolish buildings over 50 cubic metres, you need to give notice and obtain a licence.
