We'll discuss the role of brain areas like the hypothalamus and the brain stem, share sleep hygiene tips, and introduce relaxation techniques. It's designed for anyone looking to enhance their sleep and overall wellbeing.
Topics covered include:
- The science of sleep - Sleep cycles, stages of sleep, brain areas involved in sleep
- Factors affecting sleep - Sleep environment, lifestyle factors, stress and anxiety
- Practical strategies for better sleep - Sleep hygiene, mindfulness, technology
- Sleep diary activity
Entry requirements
No prior knowledge, skills or qualifications are required.
This is a personal development course. It will enable you to build your knowledge of self-care and provide you with practical tools to improve your health and wellbeing.
Material required for the course
All materials will be provided.
Teaching method
Learning will take place in the classroom. You will work individually or as part of the group.
You will be able to have the opportunity to practice the skills you have learnt in the group.
There will be visual aids and discussions. Handouts will be available for you to take away.

This is a non-accredited course. You will not get a qualification.
