We have a number of courses and sessions to support your English and maths learning and to help you to improve your skills.
English courses
English language cafe
Improve your English conversation over a cup of tea or coffee, by chatting with other people who have English as their second language. You can just turn up and practise your English skills.
This course is suitable for beginners as well as learners who have some English language skills and want to improve their conversation skills and confidence.
We have 2 sessions. You are encouraged to choose 1 session per week.
Sessions are on:
- Mondays from 10am to midday (term time only)
- Thursdays from 10am to midday (term time only)
Cost: £1.50 per session.
Where: Bracknell Open Learning Centre
Beginnersʼ cafe
The cafe runs on:
This session is for complete beginners with little or no spoken English.
There are opportunities to progress to an English for Speakers of Other Languages class and gain a qualification.
Cost: £1.50 per session.

Functional skills courses
These courses take place termly:
- Functional skills: English level 1
- Functional skills: English level 2
To enrol on this course you need to attend our job club.
English as a second language courses
English for Beginners is a course for literate learners who would like to develop their basic listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. These courses include:
- ESOL for beginners: afternoon - Mondays, 12:30pm to 2:30pm
- ESOL for beginners: entry 1 - Thursdays, 1pm to 3pm
- ESOL for beginners: entry 2 - Mondays, 9am to midday
- ESOL for beginners: entry 3 - Tuesdays, 1pm to 4pm
Maths courses
Everyday maths club
Improve your maths without the stress of studying for a qualification.
Sessions are on:
- Mondays from midday to 2pm (term time only)
Where: Bracknell Open Learning Centre
Functional skills course
Level up your skills and gain a maths qualification.
This course takes place on Wednesdays:
- Functional skills: maths level 1
- Functional skills: maths level 2
- Functional skills: maths entry 3
