Make a difference as a school governor
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and passion for education to join our governing body.
We have a vacancy for a co-opted governor to join us in September 2026. Time commitment is approximately 6 hours a term (meetings mostly in evenings).
Co-opted governors are appointed by us, the governing board. We appoint governors who have the right skills to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school.
About the role
College Town is seeking a committed and strategic-minded volunteer to join our governing body, specifically to lead on financial oversight. We are looking for a volunteer to join our board of governors, with knowledge, skills and experience of budget management, financial planning and financial control.
We are dedicated to providing excellent education and need a strong financial steward to help guide our strategic direction.
Experience
You do not need previous experience as a governor or board member as you will be offered a full induction. However, ideally you will be a qualified finance professional who is able to chair or sit on our Staffing and Finance Committee, Pay Committee and Full Governing Body.
Overall we are looking for people who:
- can help children be the best that they can be
- have a curiosity and a willingness to learn
- have strong communication and teamwork skills
