Parent governor representatives are parent governors who have been elected to represent the views of all parents.
They regularly attend and contribute to the council’s Overview and Scrutiny Commission.

Governors are volunteers who play a very important role in schools, providing critical friendship, challenge and support.
Governors can be parents of children at the school, or people from local community and businesses, of all ages and backgrounds, who bring with them a range of useful skills and experiences. People like you.

Alternatively, you can contact Governor Services. They can answer any question you have and send you a form to fill in.
School governors are people like you
I like that our governing board is made up of a team of people with different backgrounds and skillsets that all have the same goal.
As with any leadership position, it has its challenges. It can be demanding and complex but the rewards are exceptional.
It's important to retain a high level of visibility and familiarity with the school and the best way to do this is to perform visits.
After retiring from a business career, I was keen to see if the expertise and knowledge I had gained during my working life could be used in the education sector.
The role is broad and a 'have-a-go' attitude and willingness to learn is paramount.
The children are by far the best part, going in to visit them in school and listening to them is so rewarding.
