Bracknell Forest Economic Partnership

We are excited to announce the formation of the Bracknell Forest Economic Partnership. This is part of our commitment to encouraging economic growth and prosperity in Bracknell Forest.

To steer the partnership a board is being established. The board will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of our newly adopted Economic Strategy 2024 to 2034.

Vision for Bracknell Forest

The economic strategy aims to create a thriving and resilient local economy that matches the best in Berkshire. There are 4 key focus areas:

Economic performance

Improving productivity, local business knowledge and safeguarding against risks associated with large foreign businesses moving out of Bracknell Forest.

Business competitiveness

Enhancing resilience, supporting start-ups, and promoting growth in key sectors such as ICT, science and technology.

People, work and wellbeing

Addressing skills gaps, encouraging secure employment and making sure of the welfare of our residents.

Place, climate change, infrastructure and connectivity

Showcasing Bracknell Forest as an excellent place to live and work, championing green initiatives and leveraging our connectivity advantages.

Bracknell Forest Economic Partnership board

The board will play a key role in making sure the business voice is represented in economic strategy, programmes and interventions.

The board will meet 4 times a year, a mix of in person and virtual meetings.

The board will be supported by council officers.

Membership is expected to run for up to 3 years before re-selection.

Bracknell Forest Photo Competition

The ESDP supports the Bracknell Forest Photo Competition. This annual competition is free to enter and is targeted at amateur photographers. It celebrates the abundance of amazing local places, which make Bracknell Forest a special place in which to live, work and play.

Bracknell Business Improvement District

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined geographical area in which local, individual rate-paying businesses put forward ideas to improve and transform their area.

These ideas are then voted on by all the BID members. BID funds are ring-fenced to provide the improvements agreed through the voting process. This makes sure of a sustainable and democratic way of creating a development plan for the area which can help transform it into a better place for business and residents.

A BID offers all businesses a great opportunity to come together with their own budget and a collective voice, to deliver benefits to businesses and change perceptions of the area.

For more information, visit the Bracknell BID website.
