Register for free online courses for families

Bringing up children is a lot of fun but can also have its challenges and sometimes getting extra advice would be helpful.

You can get free access to online parenting courses if you live in the Frimley area. This covers: Ascot, Bracknell, Farnham, Maidenhead, North East Hampshire, Slough, Windsor, Surrey and South Bucks.

The courses include top tips from childcare, education and NHS health experts.

The courses are:

  • understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby
  • understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby - for women couples
  • understanding your baby
  • understanding your preterm or sick baby in hospital
  • understanding your preterm or sick baby now you're home
  • understanding your child - from toddler to teenager
  • understanding your child with additional needs
  • understanding your child's feelings - a taster course
  • understanding your child's mental health and wellbeing
  • understanding the impact of the pandemic on your child
  • understanding your teenager's brain
  • moving up to secondary school for children with additional needs
  • understanding the impact of the pandemic on your teenager
  • understanding your brain - for teenagers only
  • understanding your brain - for teenagers only
  • understanding your relationships
  • understanding your own trauma

The courses contain advice relevant to expectant parents, parents, grandparents and carers of children of all ages including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They are also available in different languages. 

Access to the courses is unlimited and they do not have an expiry date, so you can return as and when you wish. Each one has between 5 to 11 sessions which last roughly 20 minutes each. There are also activities that can be carried out between courses.

Register for the online courses

Once you have registered, visit the Our Place website to access the courses.  You will need to enter the access code: parenting.

For access if you live in Surrey, use the code: acorn.

These codes are not case sensitive.

These courses are provided by the Solihull Approach and brought to you by Frimley Local Maternity System. This is part of Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS), a partnership of NHS, health services, local authorities, voluntary sector and local people working to improve health and care services.
