Construction

If you are interested in working in construction, you should consider getting the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. This is the standard that trades people are measured by. You start with the green card, which allows a young person to work as a labourer.

There are classroom based courses for this, but you can also do the Health and Safety Assessment which allows you to get a green CSCS card online.

Access the online Health and Safety Assessment

Apprenticeships

If you are interested in an apprenticeship, have a look at Moving On Up - Amazing Apprenticeships.

If you are a care leaver who has access to an apprenticeship bursary, this should not be considered as income for benefits calculations. You can read more information about the exemption for bursary payments to care leavers on GOV.UK
